Fishing and Fun This Weekend at Camp Delmont - Sign Up NOW!!!

Musser Scout Reservation
Please register interested scouts and adult leaders NLT 10am on Friday, July 26th. We will go food shopping based on the scouts and adult leaders who registered. Louis Sincavage agreed to purchase the food for the scouts. He will reach out to the scouts who sign up to ask about any special food request.

The plan is to meet at the Scout House around 4:30pm on Friday. Scouts will prep for the equipment needed for the trip this weekend (canopy, tents, pots, cooking utensils, etc.), then load up the equipment in the vehicles.

Scouts can bring their own tent, or borrow one from the Scout House. It is important for the scouts to bring Sunscreen and Bug Spray. They can pack a light jacket for the evening and extra shorts/clothes in case they get wet.

As far as the fishing gear, we are asking scouts to bring their own fishing gear. This is lake fishing, so they do not need heavy duty fishing equipment. Basically, a fishing rod/line, hooks, and light sinkers. We will not have a lot of extras, but if needed we will look to bring an extra fishing rod, hooks, and sinkers to share. Worst case, we will ask the scouts to share time to allow everyone who is interested to have time to fish. We will stop or bring fishing bait with us. We expect the Unami Creek and the lake by the campsite to be stocked with Bass, Trout, Bluegill, and more.

For scouts age 16 or older and adult leaders who want to fish, they will be required to obtain their own fishing license. Fishing licenses can be obtained at Dick's Sporting Goods, Walmart, or watch this video for details on how to obtain a fishing license online at HuntFishPA - Home.

Please reach out to me with any questions.

Yours in Scouting,
Mr. Isaack

The Scouting adventure, camping trips, high-adventure excursions, and having fun are important to everyone in Scouting—and so are your safety and well-being.  Completing the Annual Health and Medical Record is the first step in making sure you have a great Scouting experience.  So what do you need?

Updated Registration Requirements for Adults on Camping Trips

Posted on Jul 23 2024 - 6:47pm

Effective September 1, 2023, all adults staying overnight in connection with a Scouting activity must be currently registered as an adult volunteer (troop leader).  Adult volunteers must register in the position(s) they are serving in.  Registration as a merit badge counselor position does not meet this requirement.
