Troop 181 has been active on the Main Line since 1921. In addition to teaching Scout skills, our monthly campout activities include backpacking, biking, canoeing, rock climbing or whitewater rafting, in addition to Council events. We also have a week-long summer camp at Resica Falls or another local Scout facility.

To join our troop, you must be:

at least 10 years old, currently in the fifth grade, and register on or after March 1

at least 10 years old and have earned the Arrow of Light Award

at least 11 years old (but not yet 18)

April 20th - Wharton Forest Hiking and Overnight Camping Trip

This is an overnight camping trip.

We will meet at the Scout House Saturday morning at 8:30 to quickly grab our gear and drive to the Wharton Forest in the NJ Pine Barrens. We will hike 6-miles with backpacks to the Lower Forge primitive campsites, carrying what we need and leaving the vehicles behind. It will be a scenic, fairly soft and low-grade hike to the campground using a map and our compasses to navigate. Upon arrival, the scouts will set up camp and plan the rest of the afternoon before preparing dinner and evening activities, including a group campfire during which we will reflect on the day,

Updated Registration Requirements for Adults on Camping Trips

Effective September 1, 2023, all adults staying overnight in connection with a Scouting activity must be currently registered as an adult volunteer (troop leader). Adult volunteers must register in the position(s) they are serving in. Registration as a merit badge counselor position does not meet this requirement.
